Join us at Leigh Sailing Club as we take the next step in shaping the future of Waterwatch Southend. This meeting will include the first-ever election for the Waterwatch Southend Community Committee.

Waterwatch Southend was founded to give local people a voice on the issues affecting our rivers and coastline.
Now, it’s time to put that voice into action.

At this meeting, members will elect the first Waterwatch Southend Community Committee, who will represent local residents, businesses, and community groups in shaping our work and future Water Quality Summits.

Key details:

  • You must be a registered Waterwatch UK member to stand or vote.

  • The deadline to sign up as a member and express interest in standing is close of business on Monday 17 November.

  • Anyone wishing to stand should submit a short paragraph outlining why they want to join the committee and what they can bring. This is on the membership sign up form.

  • Candidate biographies will be shared by email with all Waterwatch UK members on Tuesday 18 November.

  • Voting will take place in person at this community meeting.

The meeting will also include our usual Waterwatch UK updates, covering recent water quality progress, commitments from stakeholders, and community priorities for the year ahead.

Everyone is welcome to attend, but only members may vote or stand for election.
